"Be yourself; everyone else is already taken."
Heather here! Happy to work with you on your individual therapeutic and relaxation needs. I bring a variety of modalities to the table such as Swedish, deep tissue, myofascial, Thai, and Craniosacral, as well as a general curiosity for the human body and the forces that promote healing.
Originally from Virginia, I attended an intensive immersion program in the jungles of Costa Rica, came back to the States, and followed a calling to California where I have been practicing and studying bodywork for over seven years. I have since earned a certification in Craniosacral Therapy and "Chair Massage", in addition to holding a Master's degree in Counseling and Leadership.
I'm obsessed with foothill life and our quaint little town with beauty and adventures in every direction. Look forward to seeing you!
Hi, I'm Mindy. I decided to become a massage therapist after personally experiencing how much better I would feel after receiving my own massages (on a physical, emotional & spiritual level). I graduated from the National Holistic Institute and studied many different Western & Eastern modalities. I gravitate towards Swedish, deep tissue, reflexology and energy work. My focus for the massage experience is to help my clients relax in a safe space, improve muscle tension and pain, and to fascilitate healing. Hope to see you soon! Be well.
Hi, I'm Lynn. I attended The Healing Arts Massage School in Lodi, CA in 2002 where I learned human anatomy and Swedish massage techniques to therapeutically address common physical ailments using healing touch. My training includes deep tissue, myofascial release, gentle stretching and maternity massage. I specialize in addressing specificclient physical needs while providing a grounded relaxing environment for the nervous system to unwind and rest. I am also a yoga instructor with focus on restorative and yin yoga which are slower styles that emphasize the need for rest and relaxation in our overstimulated culture. My passion for health and wellness also extends to food; I am currently studying to become a nutritionist. My life's work is about approachiing health on many levels and I love to help others feel amazing.
My name is Ashley, I am 40 years young and live in Jackson, CA. I have two beautiful daughters, 20 and 17 and my husband of the past seven years, grew up here in this wonderful Amador County, graduating from Amador High in 1981. I have been a massage therapist for over 20 years having much training done in physical therapy early on. I myself had experienced some back problems while young and massage helped me tremendously. I absolutely love working in massage therapy because I am helping someone to heal. I have had the privilege of helping so many wonderful people, anywhere from 8 to 80 (+) years old. All of us need to learn and practice "self-care" and massage is a fantastic way to take good care of yourself, not just physically and mentally, but emotionally as well. I will provide a personalized treatment for your massage based on your needs and will do my best to help you feel completely REFRESHED!
Hi, I'm Jenae! I was born and raised here in our beautiful Amador County and moved to Southern California after high school where I attended the National Holistic Institute in Santa Ana. I graduated with honors and 900 hours of education in both Western & Eastern modalities. I am very passionate about helping others, and the power of massage for healing the human body as well as our emotional traumas. I specialize in Swedish and Myofacial Release and continue to seek knowledge from other therapists and health practitioners as well. I currently attend the institute for Integrative Nutrition, and am planning on attending NHI again to complete their Advanced Neuromuscular Certification in the near future. Hope to see you soon!
The Story of Refresh
Hi, I'm Kathy, owner/operator of Refresh Wellness Spa. I graduated from Integrative Therapy School in Sacramento, CA in 1991 and established my first massage therapy clinic that same year in a health club in Shingle Springs,CA. During my time there, I grew as a therapist and gained an enormous appreciation for the many benefits of massage therapy. Nine years later, love would bring me to Amador County. I married a local; David Ghormley and moved to Sutter Creek. In 2005, after years of commuting out of town to work and feeling the need to be closer to our two young boys, I decided to start a new venture. I was fortunate enough to acquire a cottage in the historic district and with my husband’s help, we renovated the cottage into a tranquil spa with a beautiful garden setting. Cliche' but true, Refresh became the small business I had been dreaming of for years, and I could finally begin building professional relationships with those in my own community. Originally I worked alone as the only therapist but as the business grew, I added staff little by little until Refresh became just the right size.
Today
After 28 years as a therapist, my hands were clear in telling me they needed rest, so in 2019 - as hard as it was, I finally let them retire. These days you will find me at the desk taking calls, greeting customers and keeping things running smoothly.
I attribute the success of our business to the quality therapists on staff and their commitment to exceptional customer service. Refresh's therapists are a special group. They are skilled, experienced, and treat each client with the care and attention one would give to their own family. Most of our customers come to us seeking improvement with a specific issue. Whether it's pain relief, improved flexibility, recovering from injury, stress management, or improved athletic performance, all of us at Refresh take these concerns seriously and with upmost compassion. Helping our customers to feel their best and to better enjoy their lives is what we do and why we are here!
And that's our story!
We hope to see you in our little establishment soon!
